Execute DDL Scripts through ODS Utility

The user can generate the DB scripts (from OIPA DB) and apply them directly to the Target Database by adding a Run and executing it in the ODS utility.

Run Screen

The Run screen displays all runs that have been created for the ODS. The Run Type dropdown in the Run screen displays the Run Types based on the execution status of the Run.

  1. Initially, when the application is started for the first time and no scripts were applied to the Target database, the Run Type dropdown will show the Install option only.
  2. When Install is executed successfully (i.e. Run status displayed as Complete), the Run Type dropdown will display only Initial Run, option.
  3. After Initial Run is executed successfully (i.e. Run status displayed as Complete), Run Type dropdown will display Subsequent Run, Alias Creation options.

When execution of Initial Run or Subsequent Run or Alias Run is partially applied, Rollback will be displayed as icon under the Action column of the run record in the UI.

Steps to Generate and Apply DDL Scripts in the Target Database

  1. Add a Run.
  2. Execute Install Run.
  3. Execute Initial Run.

Note: The Install and Initial runs can be created and executed only one time.

  1. Execute Subsequent Run when there are changes in the Source DB (OIPA).
  2. Execute Rollback Run when Initial / Subsequent / Alias Runs are executed with partially applied changes in the Target Database.
  3. Execute Alias Run when the generated table name of ODS is changed to the user defined name (Alias name) using Alias Mapping screen.
